Purposes of the processing of personal data

Your personal data are processed by Join For Water for the following purposes:

  • to participate in the activities of Join For Water ;
  • for the sending of newsletters and invitations; after authorization of the recipient;
  • for fundraising and to obtain a government grant (legal obligation).

For the above purposes, we may request and store the following personal data:

  • personal identity details: surname, first name, address, telephone number, email address;
  • financial data for a donation from the person concerned;
  • National registry number: from 2024 mandatory to mention on tax certificates;
  • other data as part of participation in one of our activities.

We use the data collected only for the purposes for which we obtained the data.

 

Disclosure of data to a third party

We may share the information you provide to us with a third party if necessary to fulfil the purposes described above.

For example, we use a third party to:

  • take care of the online environment (web hosting);
  • provide a computer infrastructure (including a computer network, etc.);
  • preparation and distribution of newsletters and invitations;

We never pass on personal data to other parties with whom we have not concluded a processing agreement.

We make the necessary arrangements with these parties (processors) to ensure the security of your personal data.

In addition, we will not share the information you provide with third parties unless required or permitted by law.
We may also share personal data with third parties with your consent. You have the right to withdraw this authorization at any time. We do not provide personal data to parties outside the EU.

 

Minors

We only process personal data of minors (persons under 16 years of age) if written permission has been given by the parent or legal guardian.

 

Storage period

Join For Water  will not retain personal data longer than is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purposes identified or required by law.

We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, such as:

  • the use of an ICT policy, including a password policy;
  • inform all Join For Water employees about the importance of personal data protection and the procedures to follow;

You have the right to inspect and correct or delete any personal data we have received from you. See our contact details above.

You may also object to the processing of your personal data (or part thereof) by us or by one of our processors.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data, we ask you to contact us directly. You always have the right to file a complaint with the Privacy Commission, which is the supervisory authority in the area of privacy protection.

Join For Water  reserves the right to amend its privacy statement. We will announce this change on our website. The last amendment was made on April 15, 2018.

 

Website and newsletter

Collected data

The personal data collected on this site are managed by Join For Water – and only by Join For Water. With each visit to the site, we store your IP address, information concerning navigation on our site, your email address if you give it to us (for example when you subscribe to the newsletter) and your contact details if you make a donation to Join For Water via the donations page.

 

Aims

This data is collected to improve our website, to generate statistics, to send you the newsletter (if you agree) and to record your donation in the accounts.

 

Modify or delete

We offer visitors to this website the opportunity to modify or delete any personal information that has been provided to us at that time. Unsubscribing from the newsletter is possible via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter.

 

Cookies & Facebook pixel

Our site uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file containing information, which is stored on your computer’s hard drive and which is created to improve navigation on our site. A cookie is harmless, but you can configure your browser to refuse cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of our website and others may not function properly if cookies are disabled in your browser.

A Facebook pixel is installed on this website. This is an analysis tool with which we measure the effectiveness of our online advertisements by gaining insight into the actions people take on our website. Facebook does not disclose personal information about the individuals it collects through the pixel.

 

Making a donation via the website

If you make a donation via the donation page on the site, we need your email address to send you a confirmation email. We need your details for the processing of your donation and for the production of your tax certificate if your total amount on 31/12 exceeds 40 euros.
